Portland’s Saturday Market!

Hi guys! Happy Saturday! Like promised, I have a few Saturday Market pictures! I loved going to the market, one of my favorite places! Surprisingly, normal people go to the Saturday Market. No Dark Vaders to be seen. Although there was a pair of performers who were Portland Weird. (In the best way possible)

Sadly, I didn’t get to see his sword tricks. But his yo-yo trick was pretty cool! They weren’t the only performers, there was this talented drummer who only used pots and buckets. And a bunch of old ladies rocking out on xylophones! They even have a cd with their music! 😀 How crazy is that? What made all the performers keep their audience was not only their talent but their happiness. It was so obvious, in the way the drummer smiles while singing odd songs and when the ladies laughed with each other. Some booths I liked were…

One of the best things about the Saturday Market is that every item you saw, is hand made! It has to be, to be able to be sold. 🙂 Gives craftsmen a chance to show off their skills. I left inspired and with some amazing loot!

Have a great Saturday!

    1. Thanks! Portland prides itself and how weird it is, it’s inhabitants know that almost nothing that they wear or do will be stranger than what the next wears and does. With that in mind, it’s probably easy for them to do whatever they want. But for us, normal people who live in normal places, being ‘us’ stands out. And I think that’s good, I don’t think we are meant to be carbon copies of each other. Everyone has the power to be themselves. I don’t think you should let other’s judgment stop you from doing what you want to do. While this sounds scary, it isn’t. Being ‘us’, truly ‘us’, is liberating. Don’t waste your energy trying to be someone else, use it to figure out who you are.

Is this what you meant by that last statement? 🙂

    1. It was! If you don’t think about the depressing homeless and smokers… Otherwise, I really loved Portland and Oregon in general! There was so many fun shops with wonderful stuff! And artwork, as you can see! 🙂
